The spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the intervention of the French Ministry of foreign affairs in the case of Iranian nationals was irrelevant.

Indeed, Seyyed Abbas Moussavi, has responded to the recent remarks of Agnès Von der Mühll. "The dual nationality of Iranian nationals is not recognized by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Iran and therefore Madmae Fariba Adelkhah is an Iranian citizen and enjoys all the rights of citizenship granted to Iranian nationals," said the Iranian high diplomat.

Mousavi said : "In accordance with Iranian law and the principle of a fair trial, the judiciary is currently examining Ms. Adelkhah's case with precision. The intervention of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the cases of Iranian nationals is not justifiable from a legal point of view and this is intended to complicate the ongoing cases ".

In a statement issued yesterday Thursday, the French Foreign Ministry called on Iran to release its citizen, Fariba Adelkhah, detained since June 2019 in Iran. "It is essential that the Iranian authorities act transparently in this case as well as in all cases of foreign nationals detained in Iran," said French Foreign Ministry spokesman Agnès Von der Mühll at a press conference.
