The Russian counter-offensive was quick : while Turkey opened the doors of Idlib wide to new reinforcements for terrorists, coming from the countries of Central Asia and China to support the terrorists there, Russia carried out "strategic" strikes.

The Russian air Force has launched a strategic attack on the eastern part of Idlib, where one of the main bases of al-Nusra, which is fed and protected by Turkey, is located. According to a military report, the Russian air Force launched two strikes on the bases of Hurras Al-Deen in the towns of Tal Agher and Ballisa, both located in the eastern countryside of Idlib governorate.
