Syria-Lebanon: the anti-dollar coup
The loss of the value of Lebanon's national currency against the dollar led Beirut to try to reduce its dependence on the green note.
For the Lebanese, the economic crisis facing their country is the result of economic pressures from the United States, and it is these same pressures that have caused the loss of value of the national currency. In these circumstances, some Lebanese statesmen accuse Syria of involvement in this economic crisis but this is an accusation that knows no logical root since the goods imported by Syria from Lebanon are not paid in dollars.
Moreover, the Lebanese plan to follow the model of Syria, which has managed to control the fluctuations of the dollar vis-à-vis the Syrian pound, especially since it has been able to prevent a free fall of its national currency by creating new jobs and building new factories. Following the failure of Syria's enemies in the war they launched against that country, parties tried to weaken the Syrian economy. But Damascus has made every effort to finally be able to survive all these challenges.
So far, Syrian economic officials have undertaken a number of measures to stabilize the country's economy once again. The Syrian economy is increasingly finding its pillars on the concept of production and this is exactly what Lebanon will have to do to get rid of the US dollar.
