"Israel" wants to expel the Palestinian founder of the BDS

The Israeli minister of the" Interior", Aryeh Deri, announced on Sunday that he had asked the so - called" Population and Immigration Authority "to annul the status of" permanent resident " of Omar Barghouti, founder of the anti-Israeli movement BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions).

Mr. Barghouti has the status of "Israeli permanent resident", which he obtained after marrying a woman from the Palestinian territories occupied by "Israel" in 1948 with whom he lives in "Acre", a city in the north of the Zionist entity. "I intend to act quickly to deprive Omar Barghouti of residency status in Israel," Deri said in a statement.

The co-chairman of the "United Arab List", Ahmed Tibi, defended: "Mr. Barghouti has waged a determined battle against the occupation and the settlements". "He has been granted legal residency and has committed no crime other than to express clear and determined positions here in Israel and around the world against occupation and colonialism," he added.

"The boycott is a legitimate non-violent mode of struggle. Deri's intention is arbitrary and an attempt to silence all actions against the occupation, even if they are peaceful", he concluded.
