As for the pretext of the refugees, it is also a manipulation. Northern Syria is already hosting hundreds of thousands of refugees from all over Syria and Iraq. The consequences of a Turkish invasion on Syrian soil can already be seen in Afrine, a Kurdish enclave that was invaded in January 2018.
