"Cuba will always be able to count on Russia," Medvedev promised in Havana
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev promised on Thursday, October 3, that Cuba could "always count on the support of Russia", during a visit to the island, faced with fuel shortages linked to U.S. sanctions.
"Cuba is an important economic partner of Russia in Latin America", he assured, reaffirming Moscow's support for this country which lived in the Soviet fold for three decades, until the early 1990s. "With President Miguel Diaz-Canel, we decided to strengthen our strategic cooperation", he added, revealing a series of agreements in scientific cooperation, customs, nuclear medicine or the railway sector.
